Meet the Tasmanian Devils

These playful Tasmanian Devils, Mary and Mavka, fill their days with adventure, curiosity, and plenty of mischief.

Mavka

Species: Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii)

Born: 2023 | Sex: Female

 

Mavka is the laid-back one of the devil-duo at Paradise Country, with a mellow yet confident personality. She’s happiest enjoying a nap, foraging around her habitat or, of course, getting to the food first!

Don’t be surprised if you spot Mavka stretched out asleep on her back, completely upside down and looking very comfortable!

Mary

Species: Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii)

Born: 2023 | Sex: Female

 

Mary is the cheeky one of the duo! She may seem a little quiet at first, but give her some time and her big personality will shine through. She loves snuggling up with Mavka, but don’t let her sweet side fool you – Mary is well known for her mischievous antics and irresistible charm!

Only found in Tasmania, Australia. – Habitat consists of forests, woodlands, and coastal scrublands.

Behaviour

Group: "Screech" or "Cheer" - Usually solitary, shy and nocturnal, but loud when feeding or threatened.
