Quick Facts

Dingoes are a mammal, native to Australia

Although they look like a dog, dingoes do not bark – they howl like a wolf

A dingo’s howl can be heard many kilometers away, and is used to communicate with others

An adult dingo can grow to over one meter in length and weigh between 13 and 15kg

Most dingoes are ginger or sandy in colour, with white markings on their feet, tail and chest, however some dingoes are black, tan and sometimes white

Dingoes are found in most parts of Australia except Tasmania
