Did you know?
How many meals are made each day?
Our wildlife team prepares 50 meals daily in the Nutrition Centre to meet the individual needs of the animals at Paradise Country.
Do animal diets change with the seasons?
Some animals receive seasonally adjusted diets to support natural behaviors, breeding cycles, or changes in climate.
How do we mimic natural foraging?
We use puzzle feeders, hidden treats, and varied food presentation to encourage natural foraging and keep minds active.
How much food is prepped each week?
Our team prepares over 5000 kilograms of food every week to fuel the animals. That’s a whole lot of crunching, munching, and snacking!
Which species eat the most?
Our koalas! Each koala requires around 1,000 eucalyptus trees per year, and we feed them nearly 500 kilograms of eucalyptus branches every day.
Which species eat the least?
Our snakes are expert fasters. Some go a whole month (or more) without a meal during winter!
